Available Year Round
Marjoram is a sweeter, milder cousin of oregano that is often used in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food.
This bulk marjoram is fine-dining restaurant quality, so it is fresher and higher quality than the fresh herbs found in most grocery stores.
Marjoram is best stored in a plastic bag in the warmest part of your refrigerator (near the light).
For long term storage of marjoram, we recommend drying it on the stem. Hanging bunches out to dry will best preserve marjoram's flavor, but you could also dry it in a 150 degree oven (or your lowest heat setting) over 2-3 hours & store it in an air tight container in a cool, dry place. Dried marjoram offers similar potency to fresh.
Up to five days fresh, up to six months dried.
RECIPES & TIPS
Marjoram is commonly paired with proteins like poultry, lamb or rabbit, fish like Pacific halibut and tuna, potatoes, and vegetables like Brussels sprouts, squash, and cabbage. It can be blended to make herb infused oil. In general, it can be substituted for oregano in any recipe, imparting a similar but milder flavor.
