Fresh Micro Dianthus™
4 clamshells, approximately 200 flowers per clamshell (about 800 flowers)
Micro dianthus flowers are in the same family as carnations. They have delicate, feathery, deep purple-red petals with fluted edges and green-purple stalks below the blossom. These are some of the smaller edible flowers available and thus a delicate garnish.
Dianthus flowers have a somewhat bitter flavor.
Keep edible dianthus flowers in their plastic clamshells in the refrigerator until you are ready to use them. If they start to droop a little bit, try dipping them in cool water to refresh them.
RECIPES & TIPS
Use edible micro dianthus flowers as an elegant garnish for entrees, appetizers, salads or desserts. They can also be strewn across buffets and banquets.
