Ground elk meat is incredibly versatile and can be used to make elk burgers or as an ingredient in almost any ground meat recipe.  It's also one of the more affordable elk meat options.

Elk is considered by some people to offer the best flavor of all the venison game meats (deer meat, elk meat, antelope meat, moose, etc). When compared to deer meat and antelope meat, its flavor is on the beefier side, making it a great choice for stews and burgers. Because it’s very low in fat and cholesterol and high in zinc and iron, elk is a healthy alternative to beef.

Thawing Tips

Ground elk meat can be used as you would any other ground meat in a massive variety of recipes as long as its lower fat content is taken into account. It can also be blended with other ground meats like pork, veal, wild boar, etc. Try using it by itself or as part of a blend to make delicious elk burgers, elk tacos, meatballs, meatloaf, sausage, pasta sauces and more.
