Burmese Python Meat

Out of Stock
approx. 7 lbs total

Snake meat is predominantly muscle with very little fat. Its texture is chewy and its flavor ranges from mild to gamey. Python meat has a flavor that’s somewhat like chicken white meat and tuna, but the muscles are well used and can be chewy unless ground, braised, or stewed. It is considered a delicacy (and believed to have health benefits) in Southeast Asia.

This python meat has been farmed in Vietnam for human consumption and is deboned, skinned, gutted & cut into large sections prior to being packed.

Thawing Tips

The muscles found in python meat are very well used and need to be braised, stewed, smoked, or ground to become tender. It’s a good choice for soups and stews. In the Philippines python meat is sometimes used in sinigang, a sour stew served with rice. Snake Soup, a specialty in Cantonese cuisine, is thought to have medicinal properties.
