Scarlet runner beans are a purple & black bean variety with a mild flavor. They can be used similarly to pinto or pink beans, bringing new color to your dishes.
Dried scarlet runner beans are best stored in an air-tight container in a cool, dry place.

Basic Cooking Technique:
Dry scarlet runner beans should be soaked overnight and rinsed prior to use. To cook on the stove, boil for three minutes, then reduce the heat and simmer (covered) until tender. They triple in size while cooking, so one cup raw will yield about three cups of cooked beans.
