You can tell true Red Snapper (pristipomoides filamentosus) by the red color of its skin. It’s a firm textured fish with a sweet, nutty flavor that is very adaptable to many cuisines.

Red snapper may be baked, sautéed, or grilled and goes well with many sauces and accompaniments, from mild to intense. Try lemon, butter, and fresh herbs; tomatoes, basil, garlic, and black olives; or tropical fruits.
