Gochugaru chile flakes (aka kochukaru, Korean red pepper flakes) are an essential Korean ingredient & seasoning, the basis for all the spiciness found in modern Korean food. They’re a warm, fruity orangish-red variety with highly variable heat levels, from medium mild to medium hot.
Store gochugaru chile flakes in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
