Dried Pasilla Negro Chiles
Pasilla negro peppers are so named because of their dark, wrinkled skin resembling a raisin. They are the dried form of the chilaca pepper. These thin-skinned chilies are large (~ 6 inches long) and provide mild heat & fruity chile flavor.

Store pasilla negro peppers in an air-tight container in a cool, dark cupboard.
Pasilla negro peppers will retain their flavor for at least a year, but likely much longer.
RECIPES & TIPS
Dried pasilla negro peppers can be ground into chili powder or reconstituted in boiling water. These chilies are a central ingredient in Mexican moles and work well used in cream sauces or desserts to add heat.
