Bamboo mushrooms (Dictyophora Indusiata - aka veiled lady mushrooms, bridal veil fungus, long net stinkhorn) are long, thin, porous mushrooms with a tender texture, intensely earthy aroma and rich earthy flavor. They can grow up to 7-8 inches long and 1/4-1/3 inch thick.

These were once a rare wild mushroom that was a highly prized delicacy in China. Fortunately a method for their cultivation was discovered, and they’ve been grown commercially since the late 1970s - making this once prohibitively expensive mushroom much more affordable.

Research conducted on bamboo mushrooms indicates that they may have anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and other possible health properties in addition to their delicious flavor.


Store dried bamboo mushrooms in an air-tight container in a cool, dry place.


Bamboo mushrooms can be simmered in soups or rehydrated and used in stir fried dishes. Their earthy flavor pairs well with meats, poultry, soy sauce, sesame oil and/or tofu.
