Less spicy than a jalapeno with a nice sweetness, shishito peppers are perhaps the pepper most commonly served fresh in Japan. With thin walls and tiny seeds, they are almost completely edible (don’t eat the stem) and high in vitamins A and C.
Store shishito chilies in the refrigerator wrapped in a zip top bag.
Up to 3-5 days at room temperature, longer if refrigerated.
