Edible begonias are medium blossoms with delicate petals and bright yellow centers. Edible begonias are very tart, so if you’re using them as an ingredient a few petals can go a long way. Try using them (sparingly) on salads as a garnish that adds color and zing.

Edible begonias are sold as a mixed color blend that varies with availability and can include some or all of the following: white, pink, and red. Each piece is a cluster of 4-5 blossoms, cut to measure approximately 1-2” in length.

Note: Begonias get their tart flavor from oxalic acid, which can aggravate gout, kidney stones, or rheumatism.
