Certified Free Range, Organic & Humane

These dedicated farmers are raising chickens the way they should be raised. Certified Level 3 by the Global Animal Partnership (GAP), the chickens on SVO farms are given plenty of space and enrichments to express their natural behaviors like jumping, perching and foraging. GAP provides a unique set of standards and guidelines for animal welfare. Level 3 ensures the chickens are free range with access to the outdoors and mandates a "low stocking density" (to avoid overcrowding in houses, making sure the chickens have more space to move about both indoors and outside). Certified USDA Organic and verified by the Non-GMO Project, these chickens are fed an entirely vegetarian diet and never antibiotics, hormones or animal byproducts.

Thawing Tips

Think of ground chicken as a blank canvas. Almost any herb or spice blend you can think of will bring it to life. Use ground chicken as a leaner, lighter replacement for beef in meatballs, burgers, Bolognese sauce, or chili. Tuck seasoned, sautéed ground chicken into lettuce cups, dumplings, tortillas, or even a baked potato.
