EMILY ADAMSON

Public Relations Manager

Growing up on a diet consisting mostly of Kraft macaroni and cheese, Emily did everything she could to avoid the “weird” things her mom served at dinnertime including eggplant, veal and duck pizza.

Luckily at some point, her palate matured and she came to appreciate the multi-course culinary wonders both her parent’s whipped up, even on week nights. “I started to realize how amazing my mom is. We’d go on boat trips to the middle of nowhere in Desolation Sound and she’d plan weeks in advance to ensure she could produce gourmet meals out of the tiny galley,” said Emily. “And she was never against purchasing great food; we were always stocked with specialties from Pike Place Market and desserts from Fran’s.”

Our Mission

A 2001 graduate with a communication degree from Western Washington University, Emily’s first “real” out of school job was with a Bainbridge Island-based PR firm. She spent six years under former Disney executives and the advance press team for President Reagan learning the ins and outs of PR, building media relationships, scheduling media tours and executing incentive trips and meetings. “It was a great place to be; I worked with an amazing team, learned a lot, went on several incredible “business” trips, and could bring my dog to work every day.”

But along came her dream job… applying her public relations skills to a specialty food company. “It doesn’t get any better than this,” laughed Emily. “This job filled all my requirements; great food and people in a casual, dog friendly environment.”

Emily lives with her husband Curtis, who is also in the food industry, Elliott the cat and Murray the dog (named after Hightower Cellar’s Murray Cuvee) on the Snoqualmie River in North Bend.

In her off time she enjoys cooking, traveling and takes advantage of the beautiful Washington outdoors year around.

Favorite foods: Cheese and Chocolate

Beloved vegetable: Butternut Squash

Best place to be (other than at the dinner table): If not on the beach, then in Walla Walla checking out new wineries

Not-to-miss restaurants in Seattle: Lola for breakfast, Beecher’s Mac n’ Cheese or Salumi for lunch, and Tamarind Tree for dinner

Won’t touch: capers or hazelnuts (the quickest way to ruin good chocolate)

Coffee order: Double Tall Americano (except during the holidays, she can’t pass up Starbucks peppermint mochas—red sprinkles and Christmas cups make life good)
