This turtle meat is semi-boneless and comes from farm-raised fresh water snapping turtles. It is called ‘semi-boneless’ because it still has cartilage in it. The flavor of turtle meat is both delicate and intense.
Origin: Iowa or Georgia
Applications: Turtle meat is great in gumbos and in soups.
How to Store & Share: We recommend that that this turtle meat is thawed and cooked all at once. Then perhaps you can freeze it and store it for later. It is not recommended to try to thaw the pail and refreeze.
