Red Nature Straws are 6” lengths of hollow “red” (actually purple) reed that can be used as a drinking straws. They’re approximately a quarter inch in diameter. Because they are cut from plants, they’re biodegradable/compostable. They don’t impart flavor to the beverages being drunk through them.
While Nature Straws are food safe and technically edible, they’re not really meant to be eaten. Their flavor evokes parsley, but is significantly more bitter. Their texture is very fibrous & tough.
