Pure porcini powder is a convenient way to add the full, intensely earthy flavor of dried porcini mushrooms to a wide variety of dishes from soups & sauces to risotto and mushroom-rubbed steaks. Because the porcinis are finely ground, they do not need to be rehydrated beforehand and their flavor is more evenly distributed throughout the dish.
Porcinis are one of the few wild mushroom varieties that are safe to eat raw.
We also offer a wide variety of other porcini mushroom products, from hand foraged fresh porcini mushrooms (when in season) to Italian porcinis.
Storage: Store porcini powder in an air-tight container in a cool, dark, dry place (typically a cupboard or pantry).
Shelf Life: Up to a year.
Porcini powder is a great addition to braising liquids, sauces, soups, risotto and a host of other dishes. It can also be used in spice blends and dry rubs (it’s particularly tasty rubbed on steaks).
Flavors that pair exceptionally well with porcinis include red meats, white wine, butter, parmesan cheese, garlic, tarragon, caramelized onions, pasta, lemon juice and zest, fish, rosemary, chicken, and thyme.
