Made from a blend of hand harvested canino, leccino, frantoio and pendolino olives, this cold pressed extra virgin olive oil is prized for its fragrant, sharp flavor. It leaves the mouth with a slightly peppery/spicy aftertaste reminiscent of fine Tuscan extra virgin olive oils, and has a beautiful green color tinged with gold.
The olives used in this extremely high quality oil are grown on the 14,000 olive trees on the Tenuta di Ferento family estate in Tuscia, Italy. These olive groves are more than a century old and are an important part of the region’s culture. All the olives are hand selected for quality and pressed within 24-48 hours of harvest, to preserve their fresh flavor and aroma.
For absolute best shelf life, store Il Muraccio oil in a cold, dark cupboard when not in use. However, it can also be displayed on the counter and will last very well as long as it doesn't get too hot and is well away from your stove.
Il Muraccio extra virgin olive oil’s robust flavor is best enjoyed as a finishing touch on dishes where you want a pronounced, fresh olive oil note. Try it on meat, vegetables, pastas and grilled bread.
Extra virgin olive oil should not be used as a cooking oil due to its low smoke point, but also because it is important to keep oils of this quality away from high heat in order to protect their complex flavors.
