Shiso (aka perilla, ohba, ooba, Japanese basil, beefsteak plant, rattlesnake weed) is a popular herb in Japan and Korea, particularly with fish. Green shiso has a basil/fennel/mint flavor, while purple (aka red) shiso has a spicier cumin/ginger/cinnamon flavor.
This mix is a blend of both green and red shiso microgreens. The smaller, more delicate green and purple leaves blend together to beautiful effect.
