Himalayan pink salt has been mined rather than gathered from the ocean like our other specialty salts. Its characteristic beautiful light-pink color and slightly earthy flavor is the result of a higher iron content than is found in most salts. This pink Himalayan salt is a coarse grind particularly well suited to use as a finishing salt so its color can really shine.
Storage: Store Himalayan pink salt in a cool, dry place.
Shelf Life: Indefinite.
While many home chefs like to use Himalayan pink as they would normal salt, the large crystals of this coarse variety are a great way to add color and visual appeal to dishes as a finishing salt. If desired, this salt can also be ground to a finer consistency using a salt mill or grinder.
