Edible baked Hawaiian clay grants Hawaiian pink sea salt its beautiful color (just as it does the darker Hawaiian red sea salt) and slightly nutty iron flavor. These larger crystals really stand out on the plate when used as a finishing salt.

Though Hawaiian pink sea salt can be used as you would traditional salt, its large crystals make it better suited for use as a finishing salt. Simply dust your finished dish with a pinch or two rather than salting it with traditional granulated salt. If desired, this salt can also be ground to a finer consistency using a salt mill or grinder.
