Wild, Sustainably Hand Foraged, Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) |
| Origin: |
Pacific Northwest or Montana, depending on availability |
You don’t have to wait until the summer to experience the delightful flavor of wild huckleberries. Frozen huckleberries are available year round. A wild relative of the blueberry, huckleberries have a similar flavor, but more complex, with tart and musky notes. Each of these huckleberries has been foraged for and sustainably hand-picked. The sweetest huckleberry variety, violet-black huckleberries are perfect in desserts and pair exceptionally well with Pacific salmon for a true taste of the Pacific Northwest.
Storage: Store frozen wild huckleberries in your freezer until you are ready to use them. Shelf Life: Up to a year.
Huckleberries excel as a treasured ingredient in desserts and beverages, particularly those featuring cream, ginger, lemon, almonds and chocolate. Try them as a garnish for panna cotta and custards or as an ingredient in cakes, muffins, and other baked goods as well as sorbets and ice cream. They can also be pureed and reduced (often with other ingredients like red wine) to make sauces for desserts and savory foods like salmon, squab, foie gras, wild boar, or rabbit. Huckleberry Recipes
