Bachelor's buttons (aka cornflowers, bluebottles) are blossoms comprised of delicate, feathery florets. They are sold in a blend of blossom colors that can vary with availability.

Bachelor's button petals are mild, slightly grassy, and relatively tender. The florets are attached to a base stem that is tough and should be removed (separating the florets) before using these flowers as an edible garnish.

As a rough estimate, bachelor’s buttons range in size from 1” to 1 ¼” blossoms with attached stems that range from about ¼” to 1” long.

Storage: Store edible bachelor’s buttons in their plastic clamshell in your refrigerator.

Shelf Life: 9-10 days.

Whole bachelor's buttons can be used as a decoration for plates, banquets and platters. Before using them as an edible garnish, we recommend cutting off the green stem, which will cause the blossom to separate into individual florets that can be sprinkled on food.
