Dried pequin chilies are small, oval and rather spicy, but their flavor also has hints of citrus flavor and sweetness.
Storage: Store pequin chilies in an air-tight container in a cool, dark cupboard.
Shelf Life: Pequin chilies will retain their potency for at least a year, but likely much longer.
Reconstitute pequin chilis and add them to soups, sauces, and other dishes. Try toasting them slightly (optional) and adding them to dishes while still dried. You can also grind them into chili powder using a spice grinder or blender for use as is or as part of your own spice blends.
