Made from tiny white elderflowers (aka sambucus flowers, elderberry flowers), D’Arbo elderflower syrup is renowned for its rich flavor - a complex blend of fruity (evoking tropical fruits like guava), floral, honeyed, sweet and slightly tart layers. It has a thin, simple-syrup consistency that makes it easily pourable, measurable, and mixable.

This syrup can be mixed with water (still or sparkling), and dry sparkling wines to make easy but delicious beverages. It can also be used as a topping for ice cream and other desserts, as a cocktail or beverage mixer, or as an ingredient.

The Darbo family has been producing preserves in Austria since 1879. Today their company has grown into one of Austria’s most well-known brand names, renowned as a producer of fine preserves, honey and syrups. Their production methods, ingredient selection, and overall company philosophy are driven by an obsession with producing only the highest quality products.

Storage: Unopened elderflower syrup is shelf stable, but maintain its quality even better when stored in the refrigerator. Once opened, it should be kept in the refrigerator when not in use.

Shelf Life: Up to two years from manufacture date unopened, approximately one month opened.

To make a quick and easy beverage, stir one part elderflower syrup into five parts water or sparkling water. It can also be mixed into sparkling white wines or used to sweeten coffee or tea.

Try using elderflower syrup in small amounts as a topping for fine vanilla ice cream or drizzling a little over other desserts. It can be used as an ingredient in sweets, as an exciting cocktail mixer (its flavor is reminiscent of St. Germain without the alcohol) or addition to punch and other beverages.
