Fresh Fava Flowers Details

Fava flowers have two nested sets of purplish red petals (darker petals wrapped in lighter petals) on a white-green stem.  They are about 1” long.

Fava blossoms are one of the tastier edible flower varieties, with a crisp texture and a flavor evoking snap peas and fava beans.  They’re a great choice for use in salads.

Fava flowers can be used whole or as separated petals as a decoration, garnish, or salad ingredient. 

Some edible flowers may wilt or change color when exposed to vinegar, so if using a vinegar-based dressing on salads containing edible flowers, test it on a few blossoms ahead of time and/or add it at the last second.
