Gluten Free*

Quinoa flakes are made by steaming, rolling and flaking quinoa.  They contain no added ingredients and are naturally gluten free*.  Cooked on the stove top, they produce a smoother cereal than plain quinoa with a light flavor and a grits-like appearance.

These flakes can also be used as an ingredient in baked goods or to bread foods (as you would breadcrumbs).

With exceptionally high protein levels (12%-18%), lots of vitamin E, and a wide variety of essential amino acids, Quinoa is an ideal choice for vegetarians, vegans, and those on restrictive diets. It is also high in fiber, iron, and magnesium and considered easy to digest.

* Processed in a facility that also processes wheat, tree nuts, soybeans, milk, eggs, peanuts & sesame seeds. Processed on shared equipment that is cleaned & sanitized between production runs to prevent allergens from contaminating non-allergenic products.

Storage: Store quinoa flakes in an air-tight container in a cool, dry place.

Shelf Life:
A year or longer.

Quinoa flakes can be used to make a simple breakfast cereal or substitute for grits.  They can also be used as an ingredient in baked goods as you would oatmeal (cookies, quick breads, muffins, etc) or used as the outer coating for breaded chicken, fish, veggies, etc.

Basic Stovetop Cooking Instructions:
To prepare quinoa flakes as a breakfast cereal – add them to boiling water and cook for about 90 seconds.  Remove the pot from the heat and let stand until the cereal reaches your desired consistency.
