Store habanero chilies in your refrigerator. For longer term storage they can be frozen (general freezing tips). Frozen habaneros will have a softer texture when thawed. Habaneros can also be dehydrated - cut them in half lengthwise and remove the seeds before loading them into a dehydrator.

Fresh habaneros can be used similarly to any other fresh chile pepper as long as their very significant heat is taken into account.

Habaneros are often paired with fish, citrus (especially lemon or lime), or pork. They’re an excellent addition to almost any dish you want to add heat to.
