Basil buds are the tiny clusters of tender green leaves that cluster on the basil plant prior to growing into full sized leaves. Completely edible, they can be used as a garnish on savory or sweet dishes.
Storage: Keep basil buds in their plastic clamshells in the refrigerator until you are ready to use them.
Shelf Life: Up to seven days.
Try sprinkling basil buds on dishes where you would normally use whole basil leaves or a basil chiffonade for an unusual & beautiful presentation. Try using them to garnish mixed drinks, or freezing them into ice cubes for cocktails served on the rocks.
