Wild Coho Salmon (aka Silver Salmon) are similar to King salmon in taste, color, and texture. However, it has a lower oil content which makes its richness less pronounced than King or Sockeye, but Coho is still well regarded in the culinary world. It also has a smaller flake size than the other two species.
Applications: Salmon is a wonderful fish that can be prepared in an endless number of ways. It can be broiled, smoked, baked, fried, and grilled. It can also be served in salads, sandwiches, or in pasta.
Season: Alaskan Coho season is typically Mid-August to the end of September.
